WHAT:
John Young Elementary School students learn lessons in literacy and math at Publix.
Students and their parents will meet teachers at the local Publix store and start a treasure hunt to find homework answers. It is called Publix Literacy Night. For example, second-grade students need to name a fruit that is not round and determine how much two pounds will cost. Students travel throughout the store with a clipboard to answer their grade-level specific questions.
