A Polk County Sheriff’s deputy was arrested early on Saturday for driving under the influence in his personal vehicle.
Deputy Chad Jackson, 22, was arrested around 2:00 am, after a Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) Traffic deputy sheriff on patrol, saw a black GMC pickup truck driving erratically in the areo of Overlook Road near the intersection of Carl Floyd Road in Winter Haven. A traffic stop on the pickup truck was performed and the driver identified himself as off-duty PCSO deputy sheriff Chad B. Jackson. Jackson admitted that he had been drinking that evening. A field sobriety test on Jackson was performed, which he failed.
Jackson was arrested and transported to the Polk County Jail. A breath test resulted in a blood alcohol content of .144. He was b ooked into the Polk County Jail on one count of DUI.
Jackson was hired by PCSO as a deputy sheriff in October 2008. He has been suspended pending disciplinary action.
