A 14-year-old girl, on her way to school Tuesday, was the subject of an attempted abduction, Daytona Beach Police said.
The girl, who was on her way to Campbell Middle School, was first confronted by the driver of an older model Nissan Altima, in the 400 block of Whitney Street. The man offered the 14-year-old a ride to school, police said.
The teen stayed with a witness until the vehicle left the area.
Police said, the girl was again confronted at Lockhart and Loomis Street as she continued on her way to school. This time, when the vehicle reappeared, a male passenger exited from the rear and told the teen, “I’ll help you get in the car.”
The girl ran toward the school as the man gave chase, police said.
The driver of the vehicle is described as a black male in his early 20s, short afro, dark complexion.
The passenger who exited from the right rear of the vehicle is described also as a black male, heavy set, in his early 20s, with a dark complexion. He was wearing a blue zipped hoodie and dark pants.
The vehicle-Older model Nissan Altima, dark green, medium tint. There is no tag information.
