Orlando police said Tuesday, an arrest has been made in the murder of a woman, whose body was found inside an apartment in the Rosemont area on Sunday night.

Ryan Doyle, 24, was arrested yesterday and investigators believe he is responsible for the death of 25-year-old Lora Fischer.  Fischer was found deceased around 10: 15 p.m., in an apartment at Village Park on Martins Way, after investigators went to conduct a well-being check.

Police said, Doyle and Fischer had been dating for approximately two weeks at the time of the murder.

Police also said, Doyle had travelled to North Carolina allegedly on his way to relatives in Kentucky. Doyle shot himself in the arm and tried to get rid of the gun by throwing it outside of his vehicle.   Detectives in North Carolina detained Doyle when he turned up at a local hospital with a gunshot wound.

Detectives believe the murder weapon used to murder Fischer was discarded in the area of Spartanburg, South Carolina, where Orlando Police are working with local authorities and civilian volunteers to locate it.

Doyle is in jail in Henderson County, North Carolina, waiting to be brought back to Orlando.  He will be charged with first degree murder, authorities said.

Orlando detectives flew to North Carolina yesterday.
