A man who rammed his car into a Dillard’s store at the Westfield Countryside Mall early on Wednesday morning, may have been trying to kill himself, investigators now believe.
Clearwater Police and Fire Rescue responded around 2:00 a.m. to the Dillard’s store at Westfield Countryside Mall, after receiving a call about a car crash. Â The crash subsequently started a fire in the east side of the building.
The driver, who was pulled from the vehicle and taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life threatening burns and injuries, told investigators he was attempting to kill himself, WTSP.com reports.
