An Ocoee woman was arrested on Monday charged with aggravated battery of a 2-year-old child, police said.
Ocoee police also said, the 2-year-old was found with bruises on the back and buttocks consistent with being struck by a loop shaped object, such as a belt or a chord.
34-year-old Jamin Iran J. Balderas, the child’s caregiver aunt, confessed to physically disciplining the toddler.
Balderas has been charged with aggravated battery on a child, a first degree felony.
The Department of Children and Families alerted police to the abuse.
