Thirteen people – five women and eight men – were arrested in two separate prostitution stings, Daytona Beach police say.
On August 10, as part of their ongoing efforts to clean up certain areas to make the city more livable, detectives launched a prostitution sting during which five women were arrested.
The following day, on August 11, members of the Daytona Police Department conducted a Reverse Prostitution Operation and 8 men were taken into custody. An undercover female officer posed as a “prostitute,” at the street level, and were propositioned by the men.
Most of those arrested were charged with solicitation to commit prostitution.
