Undercover detectives raided a Poinciana residence which was being used as a marijuana grow house, arresting four and seizing 15 pounds of harvested pot.
Working on a tip, detectives turned up at the home in the 400 block of Rio Grande Court where they found seven people – five adults and two children, belonging to the homeowner.
While serving the search warrant, detectives found two upstairs bedrooms that were being used to cultivate marijuana. Detectives seized 15 pounds of harvested marijuana and the plant stalks from which the marijuana buds had been removed; 21 electric ballasts; 15 high-intensity bulbs; 12 light hoods; pots; fertilizer; and illegally diverted electricity.
Hector Diaz, 39, the homeowner was arrested along with three other adults. They are: Francisco Perez, 49, of Kissimmee, and Daniel Rodriguez, 40, and Luis Gonzalez-Lopez, 56, both of Orlando. All face multiple charges ranging from the cultivation of cannabis, trafficking in cannabis, to possession of drug paraphernalia. Diaz also faces one count of cultivation of cannabis with a minor present and two counts of child neglect.
Diaz, Perez, Rodriguez and Gonzalez-Lopez were booked into the Polk County Jail. The two children were placed in the custody of the Department of Children and Families.
