Legislators, parents, educators, and community activists will hold a press conference and rally at the State Capitol in Tallahassee on Thursday, September 26th at 10:30 am. They will call on Governor Scott to invest any additional revenue in public education instead of tax giveaways to corporate special interests.
On August 30th, the Governor announced his $500 million tax plan in front of an audience of right-wing conservatives and corporate donors. Floridians are eager to tell him to invest in our children’s education system instead of tax cuts for the wealthy and well-connected few.
Representative Karen Castor Dentel – joined by fellow legislators, educators, parents, and community activists – will speak to the importance of investing in Florida’s education system. Castor Dentel, a mother and educator, has spent more than a decade teaching elementary students in Florida.
