OUC Launches Program to Help Local Homeowners Go Solar

Do you know the Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC – The Reliable One) has launched OUCollective Solar, an innovative new program that makes it easier and more affordable than ever for OUC residential electric customers to install rooftop solar panels? The new program enables homeowners to save up to 30% on solar + battery backup systems for their homes. These systems can keep the lights on and the fridge running during hurricanes or other severe weather events.

The OUCollective Solar program simplifies the process and brings transparency and choice to the solar-buying experience. OUC customers can schedule a free, no-obligation consultation with an energy advisor and receive a comprehensive solar suitability analysis with a 3D system design and three competitive quotes for their properties. Additionally, homeowners can add a hurricane resiliency package, including a battery back-up system that provides electricity during outages.

“At OUC, we’re committed to weaving sustainability through everything we do, and helping our customers do the same is a top priority,” said Linda Ferrone, OUC Chief Customer Officer. “We work every day to adopt clean technologies to enhance their experience, and we’re excited to make rooftop solar more accessible and affordable in our community.”

Following a competitive bidding process, OUC chose Central Florida company esaSolar to design and install turnkey solar photovoltaic (PV) systems at a discounted price using OUC’s collective buying power.

In the past 10 years, home solar energy system costs have fallen dramatically in the United States, and more than one million American homes are now powered by the sun. Still, going solar can be complicated with many equipment and financing options.

“As a local solar company, we’re proud to partner with OUC. This program will bring a new experience to solar buyers in central Florida.” said Lindsay Latre, CEO of esaSolar.

Premier solar marketplace, Pick My Solar, is the technology partner of OUCollective Solar, providing a platform that facilitates a simplified online experience for this program.

“Thanks to our partner Pick My Solar, OUC customers can create an account, speak with an expert energy advisor, review proposals, and sign agreements all from the comfort of their own homes, 100% online.” added Latre.

OUCollective Solar is available to OUC customers who own their homes, including those in Orlando, St. Cloud, and unincorporated Orange and Osceola counties. Learn more at https://ouc-collective.com.
