Orlando’s downtown transit system, LYMMO, is in the top ten U.S. transit systems says, Grist, a Seattle-based environmental, non-profit online magazine.
“Orlando, with its free bus rapid transit system LYMMO, is credited with inspiring the development of several nearby office and residential buildings and improving walkability,” commented the magazine.
LYMMO currently covers a total of twelve miles and the city is now looking at expanding beyond its current corridors, as well as, replacing its “clean-diesel” buses with hybrids.
Other transit systems that made the top ten list included, Cleveland, Charlotte, Denver, Los Angeles and Phoenix.
