A man who had just gotten out of prison was arrested late Friday and charged with at least four bank robberies that occurred in the past week from Orlando to Tampa.
Orlando Police said they had taken 46 year old Robert McLemore into custody in connection with two Bank of America heists that took place within 24 hours of each other.
On Monday, a man went into a Bank of America on South Orange Avenue, implied he had a weapon, and robbed the teller.
Tuesday another Bank of America, on South Conway, was robbed in a similar manner, and surveillance photos showed that the suspect resembled the one at the earlier robbery.
Those photos were distributed to local media, and someone who knew McLemore notified police.
McLemore was also suspected of robbing a BB&T Bank branch in Winter Park Monday afternoon, and a SunTrust in Tampa on Friday.
He was booked into the Orange County Jail early Saturday morning.
McLemore was no stranger to the criminal justice system. He was released from state prison in late February, serving time for theft and drug convictions.
