Orlando Named Among 11 Comeback Cities in 2011

Orlando is among 11 cities that will make a comeback in 2011, according to Kiplinger, a Washington, D.C.-based publisher of business forecasts.

While recovering all the ground lost will take several years and many of the cities are still suffering with record unemployment levels, Orlando joins 10 other cities that will experience a dramatic turnaround on account of new investment by businesses, growth in the number of jobs and a re-blooming of hope, reports Kiplinger.com.

Orlando’s comeback is based largely on improvements in tourism in Central Florida and the accompanying jobs at hotels and restaurants, growth in health care and a plan underway to create a life science cluster of medical care and research needs, notes Kiplinger.com.

Jacksonville is also named among the 11 cities that will experience a comeback in 2011, based on growth in financial services and increased jobs in hotels, health care, restaurants and warehousing.
