Troopers say an Orlando man was struck and killed on the Florida Turnpike, as he stood in an emergency outside lane after his vehicle became disabled.
The accident happened near mile marker 194 in Osceola County just before 2:00 p.m.
Thomas J. Avis, 34, of Pompano Beach was driving the semi tractor which was hauling two trailers and heading southbound when the 34-year-old man was hit.
The Orlando man was driving a blue Ford Mustang before the vehicle became disabled.
Troopers have not identified the man who died on the scene, pending notification of next of kin.
The crash investigation is continuing and it is unclear whether any charges will be filed.
