The Orlando Magic was honored with the Golden Dragon Award from the Asian-American Chamber of Commerce (AACC) at their annual awards dinner and ceremony on October 8 at the Rosen Centre Hotel. The award is the Chamber’s highest honor and recognizes an individual, entrepreneur, small or large business which has made the most significant positive impact in Central Florida, improving the quality of life for the many.

The Magic’s commitment to Central Florida’s vibrant, multicultural community is part of its mission to be world champions off the court. The team created a multicultural insights department dedicated to creating an inclusive environment in which fans, community partners and employees feel welcome, valued and appreciated.

In March last year, the Magic began implementation of the Orlando Magic Supplier Diversity Program aimed at providing opportunities for the full participation of all persons, irrespective of ethnicity, race, gender or background. To date, the Magic has spent just over $1 million with minority and women-owned businesses in Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties.
