Orlando Hotel Occupancy Rises to 63.5 Percent


Orlando hotel occupancy rose to 63.5 percent in May 2011, up from 58.4 percent the same month one year ago, representing an increase of 8.6 percent, Smith Travel Research (STR) said on Thursday.

Average daily room (ADR) rates in Orlando rose to $92.71, up by 7.2 percent from $86.47 in May 2010.

Revenue per available room, a key metric in determining health in the sector, rose 16.5 percent to $58.87 from $50.54 recorded for the same month one year ago.
