Orlando Hotel Occupancy, Rates Up

Hotel occupancy and room rates rose in Orlando last week, according to Smith Travel Research.

For the week ending September 4, occupancy in Orlando rose to 51.0 percent from 42.0 percent in the prior year period, representing an increase of 21.3 percent.

Average daily room (ADR) rates in Orlando rose 13.7 percent to $79.36 from $69.77 for the same period in 2009.

Revenue per available room, a key metric in determining health in the sector, rose 37.9 percent to $40.45 from $29.33 recorded one year ago.
