During Bike Week 2011, Orlando Harley-Davidson will launch its “Hogs Against Hunger” campaign benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, a nonprofit organization that provides hunger relief to people in need throughout the region. Donations raised by raffling off a 2011 Harley-Davidson® Road King® motorcycle will go towards Second Harvest’s Hi-Five Kids Pack Program, which provides nutritious meals to needy children who don’t have access to school cafeterias during the weekend. The bike raffle should provide nearly 17,000 shelf stable weekend packs, which contain a variety of kid-friendly items such as cereal, milk and juice, fruit cups and other nutritious snacks.
Raffle results will be unveiled on Sunday, May 22nd.

Why:
According to Anne Deli, president of Orlando Harley-Davidson, partnering with Central Florida’s leading hunger relief organization was a natural fit. “A few months ago, I was shocked to learn what the faces of hunger really look like: children, hard-working families down on their luck, and seniors who are living on fixed incomes. This shattered all stereotypes I had about food bank clients. Since motorcycle enthusiasts can easily relate to being typecast, we’ve launched an aggressive campaign to help Second Harvest raise awareness about whom they serve while raising much-needed dollars to fight hunger in the region.”
