Gas prices in Orlando rose 3.2 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.45 per gallon yesterday. This compares with the national average that has increased 0.6 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.34 per gallon, according to gasoline price website OrlandoGasPrices.com.
Including the change in gas prices in Orlando during the past week, prices yesterday were 36.9 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 23.5 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. The national average has increased 11.8 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 25.3 cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Orange County commissioners are expected to approve an ordinance that requires all gas stations to prominently display their prices in an effort to avoid price gouging. The city of Orlando already has a similar ordinance in place.
