A Florida Department of Law Enforcement cyber crimes operation has led to the arrest of 16 people, according to authorities.
Dubbed “Operation Cyber Claws,” the operation focused on child pornography suspects and registered sex offenders on probation and was conducted during the period December 8 to December 12.
A part of Operation Cyber Claws, the FDLE Orlando Cyber Crime Task Force partnered with Correction Officers, sending trained computer forensics task force members to undertake probation visits. Five offenders were arrested as part of the operation.

Collectively, suspects were charged with 33 counts of possession of child pornography, 17 counts of possession of material depicting the sexual performance of a child, one count of failure to comply with sex offender conditions, three counts of distribution of child pornography, six counts violation of probation, five counts of accessing the internet via telephone, and one count each of possession of morphine, diazepam, cannabis, and drug paraphernalia.
FDLE collaborated with several sheriff’s offices in conducting the operation. These included, Brevard, Osceola, Clermont and Kissimmee.
