Fire Station Lake Nona The Orlando Fire Department celebrated the “exciting news,” saying Fire Station 18 will play a crucial role in providing fire and emergency services to the rapidly growing Poitras neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods.

In May 2023, Orlando City Council approved four new fire stations, located mainly in the Southeast region, to enhance public safety and keep pace with the city’s growth, particularly in Southeast Orlando.

Construction for Fire Station 18 in Lake Nona is anticipated to begin this fall, according to OFD.

The Orlando Fire Department recently told West Orlando News that OFD continues to have the highest ISO rating, a nationwide standard that measures an agency’s ability to meet or exceed the highest standards for fire response and fire mitigation. They also said the city will build a temporary fire station to meet the expected demand from the recent Sunbridge annexation.
