Orange Ct. schools budget shortfall much less, but no sacred cows

Officials are predicting that Orange County Schools will have a budget shortfall of $43 million next year,  much less than the $240-million deficit predicted last March.  However, this does not necessarily mean that jobs and schools are safe.

Using federal stimulus money, state lawmakers increased the amount of money per student in Orange County, but the district said it is still short.
