Orange County Sheriff’s Office spokesman, James Solomons died on Wednesday after losing his battle to cancer.
Solomons had been with the agency for more than 26 years.
He joined OCSO as Assistant Public Relations Officer in 1985 and became the conduit of media information for thousands of cases during his career.
Solomons received numerous commendations and awards from the Sheriff’s Office and his dedication led to his statewide recognition as a premier Public Information Officer.
Memorial services for Jim Solomons will be held on Friday, September 16, at the First Baptist Church-Main Chapel, 9000 John Young Parkway, Orlando, at 2:00 p.m.
Jim loved Hawaii greatly, and the Sheriff’s Office is asking attendees to wear a Hawaiian shirt to celebrate his life.
