Orange County Fire Rescue’s Newest Battalion Chiefs

Orange County Fire Chief James Fitzgerald recently announced the promotion of Orange County Fire Rescue’s newest Battalion Chiefs.

Battalion Chief Chambers joined OCFRD in 2003, his last assignment was Lieutenant – Engine 43 B Shift.  He was also formerly held the Fire Chief’s Aide position from 2018 to 2021. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fire Administration.

Battalion Chief Thomas Farrell joined OCFRD in 2004, Last Assignment, Lieutenant – Training. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Public Safety Administration and is also Special Operations qualified.

Battalion Chief Geoffrey Leavens joined OCFRD in 1999, Last Assignment, Captain – Fire Hose & Equipment (Fleet). He earned a Bachelor’s in Homeland Security and is also Special Operations qualified.

Battalion Chief Dupree Smith joined OCFRD in 2007, last Assignment, Lieutenant – 28B. He earned is Bachelor’s in Fire Administration, graduating Summa Cum Laude and is Special Operations qualified.
