Orange County detectives arrest rooming house killer

Orange County homicide investigators arrested a man who they say is responsible for murdering another man in a rooming house around April 1st.

Michael Bertran, 41, was arrested on Friday, without incident, investigators said. Bertran is believed to have killed, Harry Lieble, 60, at a rooming house located at 2007 Morning Drive off Orange Blossom Trail.

Deputies went to the rooming house on the morning of April 1, after receiving complaints regarding a foul smell.

The motive for Lieble’s murder is unclear. Investigators won’t say how Lieble was killed or precisely when the murder took place.

Bertran was transported to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Operations building for questioning.  Detectives said, he is cooperating with investigators.
