Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs will take part in two public remembrance ceremonies on Sunday, September 11th to mark the ten year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
At 10:30 a.m., Jacobs will attend the Remember, Reflect & Renew community gathering at the Northwest Recreation Complex, 3710 Jason Dwelley Parkway in Apopka hosted by Pastor John Hampton.
At 12:30 p.m., Jacobs will arrive at Orange County Fire Station #71 (off South Goldenrod Road near Hoffner Avenue) to participate in the National Moment of Remembrance. Joined by residents of the nearby Gulfstream Harbor Community, Mayor Jacobs will lead a ceremony beginning at 12:45 p.m. At 1:00 p.m. sharp, the Orange County Fire Rescue Honor Guard will ring a bell, simultaneous with the ringing of bells and the sounding of sirens in communities across the nation.
