Dr. Phillips Charities, the community builder behind The Packing District, has announced Orange County Brewers as the operator of the 3,600 sq. ft. microbrewery planned in the historic Southern Box building near the corner of Orange Blossom Trail and Princeton Street in the heart of The Packing District.
Orange County Brewers is a Central Florida-based craft beer brewing company. Founded in 2016 by entrepreneur Jeremy Roberts, its first location was in downtown Orlando. In 2019, in a strategic partnership, Andrew Phillippe joined the team and the original location was relocated to Lake Mary. Most recently, Orange County Brewers expanded to Orlando International Airport and by next year, will have more tap room locations than any other craft brewer in Central Florida.
“We are proud to have Orange County Brewers join us in The Packing District,” said Ken Robinson, President/CEO of Dr. Phillips Charities. “They are at the forefront of the micro-brewery industry, so we were attracted to their expertise. But also, their local roots and commitment to charitable giving made them a natural choice.”
The Packing District Microbrewery will create 25 jobs and house 7-8 fermentation vessels to allow all of the craft beer served to be brewed onsite. Orange County Brewers most popular craft beer brands, The Warrior IPA and Black Hops Down, will be brewed in house along with newly created craft beers that tap into the deep history of The Packing District with citrus infused flavors.
“We are extremely excited to join The Packing District,” said Orange County Brewers co-owner Jeremy Roberts. “The support from our loyal brew crew has been outstanding! The rich history of this site inspires us to create beers that both honor the legacy of Dr. Phillips and represent the lifestyle in our Central Florida community.”
