Ongoing Overdose Death Investigation in Orlando Shooting Case

There is an ongoing overdose death investigation in a shooting and attempted homicide case in Orlando.




The Orlando Police Department’s Overdose Investigative Unit (OIU) received DNA results linking Joshua Nozil to firearms collected on December 26, 2024, when investigators executed a search warrant at Carter Street.

According to OPD, the warrant was connected to an ongoing overdose death investigation and a shooting/attempted homicide case. During the search, investigators seized approximately 30 grams of MDMA, 15.2 grams of Molly, 5.2 grams of fentanyl pills, and three firearms – one confirmed stolen.

Nozil, who had already been apprehended in connection with the shooting investigation, now faces two additional charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to local law enforcement.
