While total passenger through traffic declined, the number of international passengers increased nearly 11 percent in 2009. Nearly three million travelers arrived and departed MCO from both traditional, long-established destinations, such as Toronto, Canada and London, England and newly added cities like San Salvador, El Salvador; Bogotá, Colombia and Amsterdam in The Netherlands.

In December 2009, a total of 2.8 million passengers traveled through Orlando International, a marginal decline of 0.7 percent for the same month a year before, while international traffic climbed by nearly 12.2 percent.

Orlando International recently completed major refurbishment and expansion of two original airside buildings.
