Gearing up for National Prescription Take-Back Day, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office will hold a news conference Friday, in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Orange County Drug Free Office.

Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings and Jeffrey T. Walsh, Assistant Special Agent, DEA – Orlando district will address the media.

National Prescription Take Back Day on Saturday, September 27, will see multiple locations in Orange County where citizens can drop off their unused and expired medications to local law enforcement, with no questions asked.  It’s an anonymous and safe way to clean out your medicine cabinet.

In previous Orange County Take-Back events, more than three tons of unwanted prescription drugs were turned in. The service is free and anonymous. Do your part and help keep powerful medications out of the hand of those who shouldn’t have them.

To find a location near you, visit: www.dea.gov or www.drugfreecoalition.org.  All locations are open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
