OCPS to host third Parent Academy at Jones High

After two engaging Parent Academy events held by Orange County Public Schools, a third is planned for Jones High School to address “Pathways to Success.” Parents can attend inspiring and educational workshops at the next academy which include planning for college and career readiness. The more you know about the choices available, the better informed you can be to help your child achieve his or her dream as an adult.

The OCPS Parent Academy “Pathways to Success” event will take place Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Jones High School, 801 S. Rio Grande Ave. Orlando, FL 32805 from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Lunch and childcare is provided.

Research has proven that family involvement and interest in a child’s education produces positive effects throughout the years, including increased achievement in math, reading, and science, better attendance and homework completion, participation in advanced learning classes, early postsecondary education and career planning, as well as social and behavioral gains.

Registration is required. Parents may obtain a registration form from the OCPS Parent Academy website (www.parentacademy.ocps.net) or check with the main office at their child’s school to retrieve a registration form.

For more information, contact the Parent Academy at 407.317.3200 ext. 2790 or email [email protected].
