Superintendent Ronald Blocker is a regional finalist for the 2010 Just Read, Florida! District Reading Leader of the Year Award. The Florida Department of Education announced Superintendent Blocker is one of two Region 3 finalists who is in the running for the state award.
The Just Read, Florida! office in the state Department of Education promotes literacy and awards educators who are committed to the same. As a Reading Leader of the Year district nominee and regional finalist, Superintendent Blocker showed the state that he demonstrates a superior ability to foster excellence in literacy education. He also had to document how the district engages parents and families in the learning process to enhance student achievement among other criteria.
