Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded this afternoon to SeaWorld along with Orange County Fire Rescue units in Response to a call for service regarding an employee, in the Killer Whale tank, which had been injured/attacked.
Cfnews 13 is reporting that a witness said, one of the female trainers got pulled into the Shamu tank in Shamu Stadium and was killed.
Currently deputies with the full cooperation of SeaWorld have secured the scene and Homicide Detectives have been requested to respond and conduct a death investigation follow-up, along with our Forensics Unit.
The name or identity of the victim is not being released at this time, pending notification of next of kin.
SeaWorld is planning to hold a briefing of the incident around 4:30 pm today.
