OCPS District Offices Reopen Friday, Schools Remain Closed

After Hurricane Milton, OCPS district offices will reopen on Friday, October 11th, while local Orlando schools remain closed. There will be no school on Monday, Octber 14th as it was already a designated student holiday, teacher workday.




Orange County Public Schools is continuing the process of assessing the conditions of its schools and facilities.

At this point, there is no evidence of any major damage, according to OCPS officials.

Staff will be addressing any remaining issues within the schools to ensure they are ready for students to return on Tuesday, October 15th.

As a reminder, all OCPS schools will remain closed tomorrow, Friday, October 11th. However, district offices will reopen Friday, October 11th.




At this time, OCPS said it was confident all Orange County schools will reopen and operational for students to return Tuesday, October 15th.

All extracurricular and after-school activities may resume on Monday, October 14th. Any missed athletic and other student activities may be rescheduled, if possible. Schools will be working on new dates and will update families.
