Ocoee Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration on Saturday

 

The City of Ocoee will host a Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration on this Saturday, December 7 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at its historic Withers-Maguire House and Bill Breeze Park. The Withers-Maguire House is located at 16 East Oakland Avenue. Bill Breeze Park is located adjacent to the house at 125 North Lakeshore Drive.

The holiday event is open to the public. There will be small fees for some of the activities (pony rides, horse and carriage rides, face painting, s’mores and silent wreath auction.) All other activities are free.

Santa Claus will visit the historic and newly renovated Withers-Maguire House from 6:00p.m. – 8:30p.m. to find out who’s been naughty or nice. The house, built in 1888, will be decked out in holiday decorations with tours and photo opportunities.

Mrs. Claus will host cookie decorating while holiday puppets will put on a show. The Friends of Ocoee History Preservation will give tours of the house where people can learn how holidays were celebrated at the turn of the century.

The free holiday event will offer a variety of fun activities:

1. Meet Santa Claus – 6:00p.m. – 8:30p.m.

2. Cookie decorating with Mrs. Claus

3. Carolers

4. Fire pit with s’mores

5. Food trucks

6. Horse and carriage rides

7. Rock climbing wall

8. Train rides

9. Silent wreath auction

10. Bounce house

11. Face painting

12. Bonnie’s Puppet Palace

13. Pony rides

14. Tree lighting ceremony

15. Bicycle raffle tickets (with a toy donation to the Ocoee Police Department)

16. Live music with a DJ
