Central Florida motorists should brace for delays as President Barack Obama is expected to arrive in Orlando just before 5:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Obama is making a whistle stop in Orlando to attend two campaign fundraising appearances and push his American Jobs Act. One of the fundraisers is at the home of trial lawyer John Morgan in Lake Mary and the other at Orlando’s downtown Sheraton Hotel.

Officials are warning that it is typical to close area roadways for the presidential motorcade. So, expect heavier than normal traffic between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and possibly later, especially near the Sheraton Hotel near I-4 and Livingston Street.

Based on the stops Obama is making, it could mean State Roads 417 and 408 and Interstate 4 could be snarled by partial shutdowns.

So, be warned, motorists might want to avoid these areas, officials said.
