Nuggets outlast Magic

Jameer Nelson finished with 20 points and 8 assists for the Magic but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Denver Nuggets Wednesday night.

Kenneth Faried led the Nuggets with 19 points and 19 rebounds in route to a 108-105 victory.

“He brings a ton of energy to our team,” Denver head coach George Karl said of Faried.

The Nuggets outscored the Magic 38-28 in the fourth quarter.

“We didn’t close the game,” Nelson said of the Magic giving up a late lead.

“We have to finish down the stretch and we didn’t do that.”

Ty Lawson also finished with 19 points.

Lawson converted on a three point play with 1:27 left in the fourth quarter giving the Nuggets a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

The Magic (12-23) have now lost 10 straight games.

“We can’t get down on ourselves, we just have to keep playing hard,” Magics JJ Redick said.

It doesn’t get any easier for the Magic who will travel and play the red hot Clippers Saturday night. Tip off is set for 3:30pm.
