Crystal Spencer, spokeswoman for the family of the brutally murdered wealthy couple, Byrd and Melanie Billings, said Friday, that the safe which was stolen contained only jewlery, family documents and children’s prescription medication.
Spencer said that she made the announcement in order to put to rest further speculation as to what the safe contained.
Escambia police have arrested so far, six men and one teenager in the brutal murders of the couple. In addition, a women has been named as an accessory to the killings.
The Billings’ were known for their generosity and kindness and had adopted some 13 special needs kids, 9 of whom were in the house at the time of the murders.
Meanwhile, police have said that the murders were carried out with great precision and in a timely manner.
The Billings’ home, near Pensacola, contained an elaborate security system, which police say could have been tampered with and turned off during the time of the murders.
Byrd and Melanie Billings will be laid to rest later today.
