A murder-suicide is under investigation in Central Florida after a call from a man stating that “he did something bad and that he was sorry.”
Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating the murder-suicide in Valrico near Tampa after receiving the call.
Deputies responded to a home on Crystal Carbon Way, but received no answer at the door. While on scene, the victim’s employer contacted dispatch, expressing concern that the victim had not been to work for several days.
With this information, deputies entered the residence to conduct a welfare check. Inside, deputies discovered the victim and the suspect, both deceased.
The victim appeared to have suffered blunt force trauma to the upper-body, while the suspect appeared to have a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
A firearm was located next to the suspect.
“This is an unimaginable tragedy that has left a family and community grieving,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Violence is never the answer.
