The impaired driver of a motorcycle was killed early on Monday morning, after he lost control of his Suzuki as he approached the exit ramp to State Road 408 near Interstate 4 West.
According to Orlando police, a Suzuki motorcycle driven by David Burgos Miranda, 41, of Chadworth Dr. in Kissimmee, was traveling west on Interstate 4 around 2:45 am on Monday approaching the exit ramp to the State Road 408.
A witness told police that the motorcycle accelerated at a high rate of speed, lost control and left the roadway at an unknown point. The motorcycle driver drove onto the right shoulder into the grass area near the exit ramp for SR 408. The motorcycle continued west striking a tree.
Miranda, the driver was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
Tests revealed the presence of alcohol in Miranda’s system. It is unknown whether or not Miranda wore a helmet.
Miranda’s death brings the total number of traffic homicides in Orlando to 17.
