An Orlando woman has been arrested and charged with multiple counts in relation to the shooting of one of her children.
Arkeshia Perez was arrested Wednesday, following the shooting of her 5-year old child. She is charged with cruelty towards a child and aggravated child abuse. Other charges relate to unsafe storage of a firearm and allowing a minor access to a weapon with injury.
The father of the 5-year old said that he was very surprised by the incident and that the child’s mother was a “careless person”. The child remains in critical condition.
Meanwhile, Perez’s three other children have been removed, two of whom are in the custody of a grandmother, while the other is in temporary custody.
Perez will make her first court appearance on Thursday, August 6th in an Orange County Court.
