Workers at a warehouse on Ernestine Street in downtown Orlando on Monday afternoon found what Orlando Fire Department described as a mortar shell, police said.
Police described the mortar shell as about 4″ to 6″ in diameter and about 12″ long.
It is not clear how long the mortar shell was at the location at 230 Ernestine Street and where it may have come from.
Orlando Police said, it is unclear if the mortar shell is a live round.
There are reports of street closures in the area and the warehouse has been evacuated.
The Orlando Fire Department has notified the military of the discovery of the mortar shell.
