The friend had gone to bed and Stephen stepped outside to smoke a cigarette, and that was the last time he was seen. His friend awoke at 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning to find him missing.
Deputies searched most of the day stopping numerous individuals who matched his description, but Stephen still had not been found. The information was sent to the local media requesting the public’s help, and today as a result of the media coverage he was located at the Crabby Bills Restaurant in Tarpon Springs on Monday, January 17, around 4:15 pm.
Employees at Crabby Bills Restaurant recognized Stephen sitting in the restaurant eating, after seeing the story on the news. They immediately called the Tarpon Springs Police Department. After confirming his identity, Stephen was returned to his Palm Harbor residence safely.
Deputies stated Stephen was in good health but confused, and he is still unable to tell deputies where he has been since yesterday.
The investigation continues.
