A man who planted a hoax bomb on Royalton Road, off Chickasaw Trail, was arrested on Monday night, Orange County Sheriff’s deputies said.
On Monday, officers of the Orange County Hazardous Device Team and the Fire Department were called to 1035 Royalton Road around 6:00 pm, in connection with a suspicious device.
Investigators say, the device which consisted of a power source, wires and a clicking device was planted in the gas tank of a car in the area. The device was planted to irritate a neighbor, investigators learned.
Robert Keene, 24, the suspect who planted the fake bomb was arrested without incident and transported to the Orange County Jail where he was booked around 9:48 pm.
As a precaution, several homes in the area had to be evacuated, before investigators determined the bomb was fake.
