Florida Senator Marco Rubio will make a formal announcement Monday evening in front of Miami’s Freedom Tower, where he will tell supporters he is running for president in 2016.
In a call to donors Monday morning, Rubio reportedly told donors he is “uniquely qualified” to lead the country.
Rubio will be the third Republican to officially enter the contest. Ted Cruz of Texas and Rand Paul of Kentucky both announced their candidacies earlier.
Other Republican hopefuls include, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin.
