The man who attacked his ex-girlfriend, cutting off some of her fingers and who also attacked her new boyfriend, has been caught and arrested.
Orange County Domestic Violence Investigators advise that John Patrick Crimins, the suspect in yesterday’s domestic attack on the man and woman in the Lockhart area was taken into custody at approximately 9:30 AM today, Wednesday, December 30th, at a gas station at the intersection of Main and Park Streets in Apopka.
An investigative lead led deputies to the suspect’s location. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to Florida Hospital Apopka to be treated for what appear to be non-life threatening, self inflicted injuries.
Yesterday, at approximately 12:15 AM Orange County Deputies responded to a residence in North Orange County (Lockhart area) in reference to an aggravated battery. Upon arrival deputies made contact with a seriously injured 37 year old white male laying the front yard of the home. The man appeared to have been cut on his hand with a sharp edged weapon and struck on the head with a blunt object.
Deputies also made contact with a 36 year old white female outside the residence who appeared to have serious lacerations to one of her hands. Both victims were transported to ORMC by Orange County Fire Rescue where they continue to receive treatment for what have been described as serious but not life threatening injuries.
After the attacks witnesses reported seeing suspect Crimins left the scene in a red Chevrolet pickup truck. While the battery scene was being processed the suspect’s truck was located in the parking lot of a 7-11 at SR414 and Rose Avenue.
Yesterday and overnight, police searched for Crimins, the ex-boyfriend of Moriah Mace, the female victim.
The male victim is Jason Warren. Both are recovering from their injuries at this time.
