A man who was shot yesterday, January 21st while trying to break up a fight between two groups of kids at the AGAPE Christian Academy, 2425 Hiawassee Road, was arrested by Orange County Sheriff’s deputies on an unrelated charge.
Kevin L. Wilson, 25 years, told investigators that he arrived at the Academy with his mother, where two of his brothers who are students were involved in an altercation, along with several other students. Wilson told deputies that he tried to separate the students and was shot by an unknown suspect. It is believed that several shots were fired, but it is not clear who introduced the firearm.
Wilson was transported to the Orlando Regional Medical Center and upon his release earlier today, January 22nd, he was arrested on an unrelated charge–throwing a deadly missile.
Deputies said they are continuing with their investigation in order to determine who fired the shots, one of which struck Wilson.
