Man Robs CVS Store in Lakeland

Authorities are searching for a man who robbed a CVS store in Lakeland in June.

CVS robbery suspect

The suspect entered the CVS Pharmacy at 2536 Hwy 92 E, on June 6, around 7:40 p.m. Shortly after, he approached the counter and handed a bottle of Mt. Dew obtained from the store’s cooler, to a CVS employee to purchase. He handed the employee a $10 bill and as the register was opened, the suspect reached over the counter and attempted to grab the cash drawer.

The employee grabbed the suspect’s hands and stopped the man from taking the drawer. The employee was not injured.

The man fled the store with an estimated $26, along with his original $10 bill. He left the Mt. Dew behind.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, in his mid 20’s, with a thin build, wavy medium hair combed back and a thin beard. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, khaki pants and black sneakers.

Deputies responded and a K-9 track led north on N. Eastside Dr. and stopped at the corner of Everett Street, where detectives believe he picked up a vehicle or the suspect drove himself away.

Anyone with information on this crime is urged to call the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Detective Libby at 863-287-4551. Callers may also call Crimeline at # 1-800-423-TIPS.
