UPDATE: December 20, 2010 at 7:00 pm:  Florida Highway Patrol troopers have released the name of the pedestrian killed on Sunday night in Brevard County.  The deceased is David C. Johnson, 48, of Merritt Island.

A man was killed while crossing State Road 520 near Newfound Harbor Drive in Brevard County on Sunday night, troopers said.
A 2009 Dodge SUV, driven by Michael Grillakis, 32, of Winter Park was heading westbound on State Road 520 in the center lane approaching the green light at Newfound Harbor Drive, around 6:48 pm, on Sunday. A pedestrian was walking south crossing State Road 520 and walked into the path of the vehicle. Grillakis’ vehicle struck the pedestrian, who died on the spot.
The name of the pedestrian has not been release, pending notification of next of kin.
Grillakis, who had two passengers in his vehicle, Robin Grillakis, 38 and Julian Grillakis, 2 years–all sustained no injuries as a result of the crash.
Troopers said that the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
