Man Arrested in Shoals Apartments Eastside Murder

An Orlando man was arrested on charges of first degree murder and attempted first degree murder in the shooting death of a man at the Shoals Apartments in east Orange County on January 10, 2011.  Another man was shot and seriously injured in the incident.

Ngan Ngoc Do, 22 years, was arrested on Thursday around 3:30 p.m. in east Orange County by Orange County Sheriff’s Office investigators.

Deputies said that witnesses provided investigators with information that led to Do and the vehicle he was believed to be driving, at the time of the shooting.  Detectives also recovered a firearm, however, the outcomes of forensic ballistic evidence is being awaited to determine if it was the gun used in the double shooting.

The deceased is Schuyler Christy, a 22-year-old white male.

Jonathan Gonzales, a 20-year-old white male, also suffered serious gunshot injuries.  He was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center, following the shooting.

Deputies said that the motive for the shooting may have stemmed from an argument over a debt.

Do has been charged with first degree murder and attempted murder.   He will be booked into the Orange County Jail.
